Overview
The Department of Chemistry, St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Mumbai has always been in the forefront in the use of technology for promoting Chemical Education. As our vision, to promote Chemistry, it's nuances and spread awareness about the use of chemistry in everyday life, the department has designed self-paced online learning modules for Chemistry Enthusiast including, people having little or no background in Chemistry.
The first brick for this is laid down through a very interesting course Chemistry in Context, which represents a melting - pot of knowledge in Chemistry utilised in our lives.
In the near future, we will bring forward an interdisciplinary course which encompasses an inter-junction between Neurobiology and Neurochemistry.

Chemistry is a central science, which cannot be separated from our lives as it touches all the spheres right from the food to cosmetics to medicine to sports and many more....
Being a central science it has interdisciplinary nature merging with all science faculties and also bears an economic significance. This makes acquiring chemistry knowledge a great asset and will serve a shot in arm to the professional growth of many. With the onset of the 19 SARS - CoV - 2 Pandemic online learning trends have picked amongst people in general and knowledge seekers in particular. The Chemistry Department of St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Mumbai would like to channelise this challenge into an opportunity for enthusiasts all over the world to learn, enjoy, grow and share the flavours of Chemistry. And of-course these courses can be utilised for achieving certification from the college.
Our endeavour as a Department is to make the online learning courses independent of previous knowledge in Chemistry for a learner and hence empowering learners to start from scratch.
