I am currently postdoctoral research associate at the Maxwell Institute (Heriot-Watt university and the University of Edinburgh) in Edinburgh, working mostly on questions in theoretical ecology, epidemiology, and evolution. My research interests lie in the mathematical modelling of epidemiological and ecological systems, to help better understand the relevant systems and hopefully have an impact on the real world. Other academic interests include data analysis and the use of programming languages. I also have a strong passion for teaching, always looking for new ways to pass knowledge onto others, and an interest in industrial-based problems.
The impact of heterogeneity on the eco-evolutionary dynamics of pathogens.
Understanding vector-borne diseases in tick-host systems in Spain.
The impact of Varroa destructor mites on honeybee systems.
4. The influence of pace-of-life and infectious disease on social network dynamics.
5. Host-pathogen co-evolution on social networks.

Interested in many sports, including swimming, cycling, hiking, ice skating, tennis, snooker and more. Love travelling; currently going through my goal of visiting all countries within Europe (currently on 28), and love making as many connections along the way. Enjoy music, movies and absolutely love eating different cuisines, with a current favourite being Mexican.
