About

This project focuses on building energy-neutral industrial plants, fully supplied by renewable sources free of fossil fuels. Such an ambitious objective relies on the digitalized management of physical processes centered on energy production–demand balance, also considering short- and long-term storage. The project will be based on data generated by simulations and testbed trials to be implemented at LUT and Aalto universities, and explainable AI algorithms to be jointly developed. Overall, this project aims at building a socially fair and economically sustainable society aligned with the energy targets defined by the UN, the EU, and Finland. This project is funded by Research Council of Finland.
