Workshop YOUR Study Design!

Participatory critique and refinement of human-robot interaction user studies

Held at the ACM / IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction

March 11, 2024

User studies are the cornerstone of the Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) research field. A well structured study underscores the significance of a research idea. Study design is a multifaceted aspect of the HRI field that is hard to develop and perfect and can be daunting for novice HRI researchers.

Thus, the fourth edition of the Workshop Your Study Design (WYSD) workshop aims to improve the quality of future HRI studies. The purpose of this workshop is to help researchers develop methodological skills for protocol design and data analysis, especially in areas that are relatively new to them. For that purpose, participants will receive guidance and feedback from HRI expert mentors on their anticipated user study proposal. Participants will have the added opportunity to expand their knowledge on the area through attendance of shot mentor-driven talks on pivotal topics relevant to study design.
