Research has shown that drug and alcohol abuse continues to be a problem for adolescents. About 2.2 million adolescents (age 12 to 17) report having drank alcohol in the past month, and 1.2 million of these adolescents binge drank in that period. Research has also shown that teens are vaping both marijuana and nicotine at record rates. This page is designed to provide you more information about common substances used by adolescents and the way they impact your body and brain. Also, please reach out to an adult, like a parent, teacher, counselor, or Student Support Advocate, if you are experiencing problems with substance abuse.
