The EAS community may suck, but we're still keeping the EAS in CWXV!
S.A.M.E Emergency Alerting is available on CWXV. We use a special software ENDEC called "QuantumENDEC." It decodes alerts from the official Pelmorex NAAD stream and encodes it into the S.A.M.E protocol, this is very similar to USA's IPAWS CAP.Â
Coverage: All of Canada. Mostly for moderate to severe alerts
(Do not let your safety fully depend on CWXV. CWXV or contents such as SAME headers or EAS should NOT be broadcasted on airways, CWXV should be online only. I won't be responsible if someone broadcasts CWXV SAME headers on air)
Required Weekly tests are transmitted every Saturday at 17:00 UTC
Required Monthly tests are transmitted every month on the first Sunday at 01:30 UTC
Because CWXV is in Canada, the provincial Alert Ready tests will also be relayed... for... every... single... province... (there are 10 provinces in Canada, and 3 territories)
