Summer Beach Day is an annual gathering held on the second Sunday in August each year, bringing together California's commercial fishing community for a day of friendship, great food, and fun.

Hosted by the VCCFA, in cooperation with CFSB and CLTFA this free event welcomed commercial fishermen, their families, crew members, industry partners, support businesses, and those interested in learning more about California's commercial fishing industry.
Our goal was simple: to provide a relaxed, non-political environment where people can connect, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the hardworking men and women who help provide our communities with fresh, sustainable, locally caught seafood.

Date: 2nd Sunday in August Each Year
Location: At the Beach (Oil Piers)
Time: Noon to 4pm Ok to show up early and stay late
Invitees: All Persons interested in supporting the local Commercial Fishing Inudstry
Other details: Fish tacos (Local caught fish) will be provided - OK, and encouraged to bring a dish to share

The easiest way to find it is by using Google Maps.
Coming from either Santa Barbara or Los Angeles can simply take US Highway 101 to Exit 78 and follow Google Maps the rest of the way.
Free parking is available at the beach. Look for the VCCFA canopies and event banners when you arrive.
If you have to park behind the bridge, simply do so and walk to the beach, make a right and go to the end of the road. You will see the VCCFA Banner.

Take Exit 78 off Highway 101 and turn left onto Highway 1 (the frontage road). Continue west until you reach the end of the road at Mobil Pier Road.
From there, you have two options:
Park along Mobil Pier Road and enjoy a short walk to the event, or
Turn left onto Mobil Pier Road, continue toward the beach, then turn right at the beach access road. If parking is available near the event, you're welcome to park there.
You'll find us at the end of Mobil Pier Road, at the old launch pad where the oil pier once stood.
Look for the VCCFA banner, our blue canopy, and a small travel trailer—that's where the fun is happening!
