These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the PDF Toolkit mobile application (“App”, “we”, “our”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Use of the App
PDF Toolkit provides PDF and image tools such as scanning documents, merging PDFs, splitting PDFs, compressing PDFs, rotating pages, organizing pages, protecting PDFs, converting PDFs to images, converting images to PDFs, resizing images, and extracting text.
We may update, improve, add, or remove features from time to time to improve the App, fix bugs, or maintain security.
2. Account and Login
Some features may require you to sign in using Firebase phone authentication or another supported login method.
You are responsible for providing accurate information and for keeping your account secure. You must not attempt to access another user’s account or bypass app security.
3. Internet Requirement
PDF Toolkit requires an active internet connection for core app access, login, ads, account/session security, and some online checks.
If your device is offline, the App may show an “Internet required” screen and block access until the connection is restored.
4. Ads-Supported App
PDF Toolkit is a free, ads-supported app.
The App may show banner ads, interstitial ads, or other ad formats through Google AdMob or similar advertising services.
We do not control the content of third-party ads. If you interact with an ad, you may be taken to a third-party website or service, which is governed by that third party’s own terms and policies.
5. Files and User Content
The App allows you to select and process files such as PDFs and images.
You retain ownership of your files and documents.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to use, edit, convert, compress, scan, or process any file you select in the App.
The current app processes PDF and image files on your device. The current app does not upload your PDF or image files to Firebase Storage or our server for processing.
You are responsible for backing up your important files before using any editing, conversion, compression, or processing tool.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for illegal or harmful purposes
- Process files that violate copyright, privacy, or other legal rights
- Attempt to bypass ads, login, session security, or other app protections
- Reverse engineer, modify, tamper with, or exploit the App
- Use the App to distribute malware, harmful files, or illegal content
- Abuse Firebase login, OTP, feedback, or notification systems
We may block, suspend, or restrict access if we believe the App is being misused.
7. App Results and Limitations
PDF and image processing results may vary depending on file quality, file size, encryption, fonts, document structure, device performance, and Android system limitations.
OCR/text extraction may not always preserve the original layout, formatting, tables, or exact text.
We do not guarantee that every file will be processed successfully or that results will be perfect for every document.
8. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand what data we collect, how we use it, and how you can request data deletion.
9. Permissions
The App may request permissions such as camera access, notification permission, file/media access, and internet access depending on the features you use.
You can manage app permissions from your Android device settings.
10. Intellectual Property
The App, design, branding, code, and original content are owned by us or licensed to us.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App for personal or internal business use, subject to these Terms.
You may not copy, sell, modify, distribute, or exploit the App without permission.
11. Updates
We may release updates to fix bugs, improve performance, add features, or improve security.
You are responsible for keeping the App updated through Google Play or another official source.
If an update is available, the App may show an update prompt.
12. Disclaimer
The App is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.
We do not guarantee that the App will always be available, error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every device or every file.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data, file corruption, business loss, or lost profits.
You use the App and process files at your own risk. Always keep backups of important documents.
14. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the App, or if required by law.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a new effective date.
Your continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Any disputes will be handled by the competent courts in India, subject to applicable law.
