What To Bring:
Tasty Training Treats - Please bring either your dog’s regular kibble or small, bite-sized treats your dog loves. Treats are essential for reinforcing good behavior, and having plenty on hand will make your training more successful!
Water and Bowl - We will have water bowls out for the dogs, but it does help to have a collapsible bowl especially for warm days or energetic dogs!
A Standard Leash - (no retractable leashes please) and a secure, well-fitted flat collar.
Dress Code:
For your safety, closed-toe shoes are required. Dog training often involves quick movement, and proper footwear helps prevent accidents.
Supervision Requirements:
A responsible adult (18 or older) must be present and actively participating with the dog throughout the entire class. For everyone’s safety and success, we cannot allow unattended minors to handle dogs during sessions.
Feeding Reminder:
Please do not feed your dog before class! Arriving a little hungry helps your dog stay more focused and motivated to work for their food!
Programs like AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy and Canine Good Citizen (CGC) help owners teach essential obedience skills while fostering strong bonds through positive reinforcement. These trainings not only improve behavior at home and in public but also prepare dogs for advanced opportunities like therapy work or dog sports.
AKC training sets clear goals, promotes accountability, and supports a lifetime of good habits—making it one of the best foundations for any dog and owner team.
As a professional dog trainer, I highly recommend AKC dog training because it provides a structured, proven approach to building well-behaved, confident, and socialized dogs!
