According to United Nations, "Ditch the Label" and Brandwatch spent four years analyzing the content of 19 million tweets. The analysis revealed that there were nearly 5 million misogynistic comments on Twitter alone, 52 percent of which came from female tweeters, and that comments were often directed at other women's physical appearance, intelligence, and sexual preferences. The report also found that there were 7.7 million racist comments on Twitter, as well as 390,296 homophobic comments and 19,348 transphobic comments.
