Platt Theatre is the theatre program at O.H. Platt High School, a public 9-12 school in Meriden, CT. We are a diverse group of student actors, artists, and technicians. As a group, we produce three full theatre performances a year, compete in both the Connecticut Drama Festival, the CDA Monologue Competition, and hold an annual student showcase. We also offer two theatre courses, Introduction to Theatre and Acting and Performance. Our program has won multiple awards including the CT Drama Association Awards for Outstanding Production, Theatrical Excellence (x3), People's Choice, Outstanding Makeup, Outstanding Props, Outstanding Costume Design, and the Technical Design Award. We have performed at the New England Drama Festival and have been accepted to perform by the American High School Theatre Festival. The theatre program also has its own improv troupe, Troupe de Panthere, which meets weekly, and performs at our annual theatre showcase. Alumni of our theatre program have gone on to study theatre at NYU, NYFA, AMDA, ECSU, CCSU, and UConn.
