Milan.
The most famous city in the world for many things.
But mainly…shopping.
The first thing you may think of when you imagine shopping in Milan is the expensive price tags and luxurious shop fronts, but the city has many great options for everyone with different budgets.
The city is brimmed with an array of shops, from expensive designer brands to more affordable options making it an accessible playground for fashion lovers everywhere.
Designer Stores
Prada:
Perhaps the most famous and influential Italian fashion house is Prada, of course.
Founded in 1913, Prada specialises in its leather goods for which it is most famous for.
Prada’s esteemed store front in Galleria Vittorio Emaunele II has always highlighted its high quality clothes and accessories since the shop’s opening in the 1910s, making it a must visit for those with big budgets or those who wish to marvel and gaze at the window displays in the gallery.
Giorgio Armani:
If you are in the market for slick, simple and elegant ready to wear clothes then look no further than Giorgio Armani.
Having only been founded in 1975, Armani has created itself a reputation for luxurious and classical fashion by reflecting its founders’ aesthetic of comfort and charm.
Swarovski:
Swarovski is one of the smaller stores in Galleria Vittorio Emaunele II, yet this doesn’t stop the displays from being utterly fascinating.
Its colourful crystals and jewellery along with the bright layout makes the store one of the most impressive to view.
Swarovski is not as expensive as other stores in the gallery, making it a great place to visit if you wish to treat yourself.

Wait and See:
If you’re finding your style to look very monochrome and a tad boring, then prepare for that to change when you visit Wait and See.
Wait and See is filled with playful and colourful clothes and accessories which have been carefully curated from all over the world to reflect modern Milanese fashion from smaller and lesser known designers.
Since opening its store in 2010, Wait and See has created a name for itself as the place to go for good quality bright clothing whilst being reasonably priced.
Falconeri:
As autumn is approaching rapidly, it may be time to replace some old jumpers and cardigans so you can feel stylish and comfortable in the cooler months.
Falconeri is an Italian cashmere brand founded in 2009, with a strong emphasis on both high quality garments and the environment.
The store contains a great mixture of clothing with a neutral aesthetic, meaning it is a fantastic place to pick up some classic layering pieces to improve your autumn and winter wardrobe.
Vintage Stores:
Milan also has a wide selection of vintage shops for those who wish to shop sustainably or who enjoy finding a bargain gem whilst they are there.
The most well known vintage shops include Humana Vintage and Cavalli e Nastri, which both have online websites to fill your vintage needs when not in Milan.
Founded in 1998, Humana Vintage is a chain of second hand shops selling Italian fashion items dating from the 1960s which are set at affordable prices.
Cavalli e Nastri first opened its doors in the 1970s and now has three stores across Milan, which all promote sustainability and timelessness.
The store has become incredibly well known in the vintage fashion market.
Well Known High Street Stores
If you’re on a budget, you don’t have to miss out on good quality shopping.
Whilst the luxurious fashion brands of the city are quintessentially impressive and striking, this doesn’t mean that Milan does not offer anything for ordinary folk.
The city still boasts a huge selection of more affordable, high-street brands which are not to be sneered at.
Milan offers a great shopping experience for those of all ages and styles, with shops ranging from Zara, Urban Outfitters, Mango and Massimo Dutti.
Milan is an impressive city in many ways, particularly emulated through its fashion houses and style.
