## Overview
Alterix ("we", "our", "the app") is a food product scanner that helps you find healthier alternatives. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
## Data We Collect
### Data Stored on Your Device Only
The following data is stored **locally on your device** and is **never sent to our servers**:
- **Scan history**: The last 50 products you scanned (product name, barcode, Nutri-Score, date). Stored using Apple's SwiftData framework on-device.
- **Filter preferences**: Your default filter selections (e.g., Halal, Vegan, Organic).
- **App settings**: Onboarding completion status, scan count.
We do **not** have a backend server. We cannot access, view, or retrieve any of this data.
### Camera
We access your device camera **solely to scan product barcodes**. We do not take photos, record video, or store any camera data. Camera access can be revoked at any time in your device Settings.
### Network Requests
When you scan a barcode, the app sends the **barcode number only** to the [Open Food Facts](https://world.openfoodfacts.org) public API to retrieve product information. This is an open-source, community-driven database. We do not control or operate this service. No personal information is included in these requests.
## Third-Party Services
### Google AdMob
We display ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect certain data for ad personalization, including:
- Device identifiers
- IP address (anonymized)
- Ad interaction data
If you grant App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission, Google may use this data for personalized ads. If you decline, only non-personalized ads are shown.

### RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases. RevenueCat processes:
- Purchase transaction data
- Anonymous app user ID

## In-App Purchases
Alterix offers a one-time, non-consumable purchase ("Remove Ads") that permanently removes all advertisements. This purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information.
## Data We Do NOT Collect
- No account registration or login
- No email addresses
- No names or personal identifiers
- No location data
- No health data
- No photos or media
- No contacts
- No browsing history
- No analytics or crash reporting (beyond what Apple collects by default)
## Children's Privacy
Alterix does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not require account creation and stores all data locally on the device.
## Your Rights
- **Delete scan history**: Swipe to delete individual records in the History tab, or delete the app to remove all local data.
- **Revoke camera access**: Go to Settings > Alterix > Camera.
- **Opt out of ad tracking**: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- **Remove ads permanently**: Purchase "Remove Ads" in the app Settings.
## Data Retention
All data is stored locally on your device. We retain no data on any server. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data permanently.
## Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
