Welcome! My name is Eleonora, and I'm a Geologist-Geophysicist with years of international experience. My passion for traveling and connecting with diverse people and cultures continuously fuels my quest for knowledge. Among my many interests in nature, trekking holds a special place in my heart. I started trekking when I was just 15, exploring the trails around 5 Terre and La Spezia. These paths, now intimately familiar, never cease to fascinate me, no matter how many times I traverse them.

Over time, I decided to transform my love for trekking into a second career. I became an Environmental Guide and Tour Leader, allowing me to share these incredible places with others. My tours offer a unique perspective, blending personal passion, local culture, dynamic experiences, environmental insights, and detailed geological information.

Geotrekking 5 Terre Location

Geotrekking 5 Terre is based above Riomaggiore, Borgo dei Campi. Due to its beautiful location, some Geo Treks may conclude right at the Geotrekking base, where we can relax after the tour, enjoying the stunning views amidst the vineyards, basking in the sunshine

Cinqueterre National Park

The Cinque Terre National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and, covering 3,868 hectares, it is the smallest national park in Italy. Despite its size, it boasts remarkable environmental diversity, with rich fauna and flora, as well as significant geological and geomorphological features.

As we explore the ancient and historic paths, you'll witness a landscape shaped by centuries of human effort, harmonizing with the natural geological and geomorphological characteristics of the region. The land often slopes down to the sea, with thousands of kilometers of dry stone walls supporting terraces planted with vines and, in some areas, olive trees. These terraces are iconic to the Cinque Terre, helping to prevent hydrogeological instability and preserving the unique beauty of the territory.

Portovenere Regional Park & Palmaria

The Regional Natural Park of Porto Venere encompasses the most valuable area of eastern Liguria, covering about 400 hectares. It includes the historic center of Porto Venere, the islands of Palmaria, Tino, Tinetto, and the coastal area up to the Albana Valley. The park features a variety of natural attributes that span several disciplines, including geology, speleology, paleontology, botany, and marine biology.

Starting from the Albana Valley, we will traverse various paths of different difficulty levels. Along the way, we will encounter the 'Rosse,' sedimentary rocks characterized by their red hue due to fossil ammonites. We'll also see the striking cliffs of the renowned Muzzerone climbing site, a popular destination for climbers from around the world, and the dramatic cliffs of Palmaria Island, home to several quarries of the prestigious Portoro marble.

Montemarcello -Magra Regional Park

The Montemarcello-Magra Park is a remarkable area where Liguria meets Tuscany and Emilia, offering a diverse range of atmospheres along the courses of the Magra and Vara rivers. Exploring the intriguing paths on the Montemarcello promontory, we will fully experience the Mediterranean vegetation, cliffs, Aleppo pine woods, expansive views towards the Apennines, and historic villages like Ameglia and Montemarcello.

The Caprione promontory is also geologically fascinating. Here, dark rocks, resulting from the metamorphism of argillites, sandstones, and conglomerates, dominate the landscape and are interspersed with a striking lens of white limestone. Punta Bianca, named after these rocks, is the promontory's extreme point where, during Roman times, decorative material for the public buildings of the nearby city of Luni was quarried.
