Message from the Secretary Generals

Welcome!

We are very happy to welcome you to this year’s Ermitage Model United Nation conference!

The conference is organised by our student-run MUN club, with the support of our teacher and takes place in Maisons-Laffitte, near Paris.  As a club of motivated and experienced MUN students, we have spent the past months preparing this conference and are excited to finally share it with you ! Having participated in MUN conferences ourselves, we know how much the experience can bring : from discovering new perspectives and improving your debating skills to simply meeting people, building relationships and enjoying the discussions.

This year, our conference revolves around the theme “Europe and Its Complexity.” We chose this theme because we believe that Europe, and particularly the European Union, is a fascinating subject to explore. It brings together countries that share many common interests, while also having different histories, cultures, economies and political priorities. This makes European cooperation both interesting and challenging !

Throughout the conference, our committees will explore different aspects of this complexity, from European security and international relations to climate change, migration, economics, human rights and culture. Each committee will approach Europe from a different perspective, allowing delegates to discuss the many issues that shape the continent and its place in the world.

We hope you will enjoy the conference as much as we have enjoyed preparing it ! Whether you are here to debate, negotiate, meet new people or simply experience MUN, we hope you have a great time and leave with some good memories. Experienced or beginner, ErMUN conference is made for you !

We are looking forward to welcoming you and, most importantly, to seeing you in committee !

Sincerely,

Tess Hamon & Sarah Kourouma,

Secretary Generals of ErMUN 2026
