Membership

Membership shall be open to any individual or institution who is interested in and supportive of the purposes set forth by the organization. The payment of dues constitutes acceptance into membership and access to all Council resources.

Classes of Members

Full Members: State education agency employees with primary responsibility in the area of educational programs for the gifted are eligible to become full members of the Council. Full members may attend all regularly scheduled meetings and executive sessions; however, each state may have only one vote on issues presented to the Council and for election of officers.

Associate Members: Associate members are additional state agency personnel and other individuals not affiliated with state agencies. Associate members shall be recognized as persons who receive Council correspondence and attend regularly scheduled meetings and programs. Associate members may not vote on issues presented to the Council nor in elections for officers.

Institutional Members: Institutional members are defined as those foundations, organizations, or institutions that wish to receive council correspondence and attend regularly scheduled meetings and programs of the corporation. Institutional members may not vote on issues presented to the Council nor in selections for officers.

Term of Membership

The term of membership shall extend from January 1 to December 31 of each year. New members joining in the fall for the annual conference shall be members from the date of the annual meeting until December 31 of the following year.
