Simon graduated with a M.Eng (1st class, hon.), ACGI Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Imperial College, London in 1991 and an MBA from SDA Bocconi, Italy in 1995.
Simon worked 9 years in international consulting services (Arthur Andersen, McKinsey&Co) and served as a senior executive for around 20 years in Airbus, EADS, ArcelorMittal and RioTinto, before establishing his own advisory business in 2019.
Simon predominantly held the position of global CIO and Chief Data & Analytics Officer in these companies and was responsible for leading deep business transformations leveraging technology to drive sustainable shareholder value. He also spent tenures as Head of Shared Services, Chief Procurement Officer and head of Business Transformation. Simon has also served as CEO and Board member of various subsidiary companies, such as ArcelorMittal IT Supply Europe, Rio Tinto Iron Ore Asia, RioTinto Procurement and served as a Board member of Churchgate Capital Partners.
In 2019, Simon founded Kernow Advisory sarl, Luxembourg, a company providing Board and C-suite advisory services in technology, digital, data and cyber security.
Simon is Managing Director of Bloomsbury Information Capital Ltd, a non-executive director of Bloomsbury Minerals Economics and a shareholder and advisor to Bloomsbury Natural Capital. He is Chairman and Board member of Skarn Associates (UK) and Board member of Minviro (UK) and Mutinex (Australia). He also sits on the Strategic IT Advisory Board of the European Investment Bank and is a Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Company.
