Just played some games on 2k14 against my brother locally, normally we stick to 2k17 of course, I thought it would be interesting to share our experience in terms of what are the differences and things like that.

First off, we play both games on All Star, on 2k17 dramatically reduced stealth success, and increased pass accuracy, but it doesn't really help all that much, other sliders mostly default value. 2k14 we have very old set of sliders that I don't know all the details off the top of my head I just know it's pretty realistic.

Rebounds - I actually forgot how disgustingly bad rebounding was prior to 2k15. We ended up just letting AI handle rebounding for us, because it's terribad. Well, maybe I'm not being completely honest here, players actually jump exactly when and where you "tell" them, which turns out to be not so great. 2k17 rebounding feels more organic. Another issue on 2k14 is that we simply couldn't tell who got the rebound at all, we basically have to wait a split second and see if camera turns around or not.

Dribbling - Seems like some things are there since forever, things like good old behind the back into defender's foot into turnover is same in both games. One thing that is majorly different now in 2k17 obviously is that bad handlers are not allowed to try difficult connected dribble moves, and in 2k14 they could try this and almost always drop the ball, it's really altogether silly and looks more like NBA Jam/NBA Street type of thing rather than simulation.

Pick and roll - One of the greatest improvements on 2k17 probably, the difference is immense after you've experienced 2k17 player movements and different types of P'n'R defense, when looking at 2k14 it really wasn't all that great.

Layups - they are actually slightly smoother in 2k14, mainly things like eurostep are not useless and guaranteed block, and also smaller guys can score a layup. Of course, I do miss the right stick layup options that are there in 2k17 (same with dunks actually, turbo plus right stick down = floater in 2k14 instead of flashy dunk like it is now).

MOD SUPPORT: Ultimate Base Roster for 2k14 is easily the best thing since sliced bread. Now the primary reason such a thing no longer exists and nobody does it because 2k has disabled the options to accomplish the same thing, or just made it crazy difficult. But really, nothing and I mean nothing beats loading ANY season roster from 1960-2015, players are so expertly done and so many of them have cyberfaces that it's insane, with authentic courts, I'm really stuck between feeling at the same time very nerdy and incredibly grateful to people who built this. Well I guess one thing beats the mod itself, the mod comes with that NBA on NBC theme music for the menu, it really brings some warm childhood memories for me and is altogether a great tune that really cries "BASKETBALL" for me, unlike the current soundtrack which doesn't remind anybody of anything.

Hello guys. I'm making a compilation mod with 2K14 as the base. My goal is to add every superstar (and their attires) from wwe '12 to wwe 2k17 (last gen of course) to create a definitive experience on the last gen hardware. As of right now I am in the very early stages, but I hit a breakthrough (at least for me) that made this project possible. Previously, I was going to use WWE 2K17 as the base, because it has the most superstars out of every last gen wwe game, so in my head it would of been easier adding the remaining superstars that weren't in there. However, this came to a halt when I found out that since WWE 2k15 on last gen, a bunch of game modes have been removed. So my best bet was WWE 2K14, but the only problem was that I already had a fully modded WWE 2K14 copy on my Xbox's hdd. So after some research, I found out how to successfully change the title and media id for the game. Basically this means that for those (like me) who have Wrestling Legends Installed or Vanilla 2k14, it will not affect it or the DLC. The game will save under a different title id, and the same goes for the DLC.

I'm very interested in this project! When OTE used to make Octane, I was toying with the idea of making my own 'mod' of 2k14, which would essentially just be kind of a love letter to WWE in 2013. Essentially taking the arenas from 2k14 and 2k15 to match the arenas for 2013(and WrestleMania XXX for the "WrestleMania Moment Arena")... but then I realized I am an absolute idiot when it comes to anything technical. The fact that I might be able to play something similar to that, with this mod, is incredible. Even if no arenas, moves, or entrances can be ported over, there is still a wide variety in the vanilla game that would essentially cover the entire roster. ff782bc1db
