What Would Adam Do is an organization with charitable status in Canada. WWAD was initiated after the loss of our friend and co-worker Adam Gobeil in September of 2015.
Adam was a person who simply loved life. He lived it to the fullest and used every opportunity to enjoy what ever life threw at him despite any hardship or difficulty he faced.
Adam lost his mother at a young age and then lost his older brother shortly after in a workplace incident. Adam then went to live with his aunt whom he loved dearly. So much so that he tattoed WWSD - what would Susan do - to the inside of his bottom lip. Despite facing such loss at a young age, Adam grabbed life by the horns and made it his.
Adam also had dyslexia. He had to concentrate extra hard to read and his writing was atrocious! Because of this, Adam stored everything he read in that vault of personal knowledge just so he wouldn't have to read it again. He could recall an insane amount of information and never let his disability slow him down.
Adam had many friends and many admirers. Those who knew Adam loved him. Those who didn't love him, didn't really know him or had their own personal battle they were dealing with that resulted in judgement.
WWAD aims to provide funding to disadvantaged youth for the purposes of training and education in the form of scholarships and bursaries. While this is our current focus, we do hope to expand our funding to other opportunities in the future that Adam personally supported including sustainable farming, adventures in technology, and business development (pending future approval from the charities directorate and additional funding of course!).
