SHAPING THE FUTURE OF MATH IN WEST VIRGINIA:
UNITE FOR OUR PROGRAMS
PRESERVE MATHEMATICS GRADUATE PROGRAMS
AT WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY
Welcome to our platform dedicated to ensuring the continuation of vital mathematics graduate programs at West Virginia University!
On August 11, 2023, a surprising development emerged as the Office of the Provost at West Virginia University (WVU) released a preliminary recommendation to discontinue the esteemed graduate MS and PhD programs in Mathematics.
This decision raises profound questions on multiple fronts. Our graduate programs boast a laudable structure and history of accomplishment. Additionally, West Virginia University holds the distinction of being the exclusive provider of a PhD program in Mathematics within the state for over three decades.
