Tick the 'Launch with DirectX 11' box
Right Click Wuthering Waves
Select Properties
Under Launch Options put -dx11 (or -dx12)
Note: Only works for Nvidia, AMD, Intel GPUs which support Ray Tracing) otherwise it will default to Dx11 always
Hard Disks are known to cause FPS problems and Lag in Wuthering Waves
-> Open Task Manager -> Preformance Tab -> Disk 0/1/2
For Ex (check the image),
If the game is installed on Disk 2 'E:' , you can see its a SSD(Sata) . If it tells you its a SSD, then its fine
If your game is on Disk 1 (I:), you can see its a HDD(Sata). If it says HDD, then you should switch to a drive which is a SSD
Windows Settings and click on Wuthering Waves -> Options -> High performance
Try rolling back your Driver to 591.74. Link to download the Driver
If you had one of these recently:
GPU Driver Update
Just installed the game.
Going to a new area.
Cleared Shader Cache
Then chances are the FPS studders are just caused by Shader Caching. These studders will slowly go away as you play the game
If you are in the above mentioned regions, sadly you can't do a lot to fix the lag in these areas. These areas are just very demanding and prefer a really good CPU.
You can try lowering Crowd Density to somewhat help with this lag.
You can check out Wuwa Benchmarks and compare your results with pre existing benchmarks and see what is causing you to lag and what settings you should turn down
PS: It will be really appreciated if you benchmark it and set it to 'Share benchmark with everyone' as it will help other Rover with thier analysis. Its fairly simple to use and you can also use it to share a specific benchmark with anyone else
1. Go to location shown on the map.
2. (Optional Step). : Set a way waypoint here for easy access for future. (you need to do this on first attempt only)
3. Fly towards Behor's Waters area (Shown in Image) till the lag is gone.
4. Fly back to where you started and lag should be gone.
5. If the lag is not gone , repeat steps 3 and 4 till it is.
Update: Only happens on Older/iGPUs for some reason. It is a bug which existed since 2.4 but the area of this bug shrunk in the update 2.8
1) 8GB ram
8GB ram is not enough to run Wuwa smoothly. You can temp fix it by closing all background applications.(PS: upgrade to 16GB, it's cheap)
2) Having an iGPU(Older) or a GPU worse than 1030
1030 is below the minimum requirement of the games but imo is the least amount of GPU required to run the game at playable fps on 720p Lowest setting. (You can try GeForce now until you upgrade your pc)
3) Hard Disks(HDD)
These also are known to cause issues in wuwa so please avoid them if you have the option.
4) The game is not running on the dedicated GPU
Sometimes the game will run on the iGPU of the cpu. IF you are on laptop turn off power saving mode and see if any software that comes with the laptop is causing this issue.
