App privacy policy

This privacy policy applies to the Wurm Paint application for Android devices. We respect your privacy and will only collect personal information as necessary to provide you with this application. This privacy policy is meant to help you understand what information is collected, how it is used, and how it may be shared. By using Wurm Paint, you agree that you have read and understand this privacy policy.

Application Function

When connecting to our server to retrieve or deposit annotation information, this application automatically sends us, and we do store the date and time at which this application makes these connections. We also store your annotations (drawings) of worms to use for our research on worm behavior. The application also automatically sends us, but we do not store information such as:

• the domain through which you access the Internet;
• the Internet Protocol address of your device;
• the type and model of device you are using; and
• the version and build information of the operating system running on your device.

How We Use Your Information

We may use your annotations to determine your accuracy in drawing so that we can weight your annotations when determining a user consensus drawing for any one image, or to determine your annotation speed, but we will never share this information in conjunction with any personally identifying information. We may also use user information to compute aggregate statistics about application usage, such as the number of unique devices that accessed the application in a given period of time.

We may use this information to improve game play of the application, of to ensure that this application is working as expected.

We will not use this information to identify you, or disclose personally identifying information to third-parties without your explicit permission.

Third Party Software

Wurm Paint utilizes third-party software products called "Google Play Services" to provide certain features and functions found in Wurm Paint. The usage of these products is required for Wurm Paint to function and cannot be disabled. These products may store or transmit your personal information in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Terms of Service. By using Wurm Paint, you agree to be bound by the Terms of Service and that you have read and understand the Privacy Policy for each of these products.
