Q: What is your plan to help the area affected by coronavirus?
A: Since the founding of Wuhan United Executive Team on January 23, 2020, it has set up an urgent goal: source medical supplies urgently needed, and deliver these supplies directly to the front line hospitals in Wuhan and its nearby regions.
In order to achieve the goal, a procurement team formed by medical professionals was established to search for large quantities of urgently needed medical supplies, such as N95 masks, protective clothing, etc. However, they quickly discovered that there are very limited available supplies in stock. Given the situation, our team made a decision after a few days of exploration, we quickly established partnership with large Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in a very short period of time, as they have medical supply reserves to respond to global emergencies like this. We strived for their donation intention, helped them to connect with hospitals in affected areas, determined medical supplies needed, and helped them complete all documents needed for transportation to China. We also coordinated custom clearance and transportation, and with the help of enthusiastic alumni and volunteers in the country, ensured that the supplies arrive at designated hospitals quickly and smoothly. We also pledged our donation to the NGOs to support their effort.
Q: Which NGOs are you working with?
A: We have partnered with Direct Relief and MAP International. We are working on developing our partnership with more NGOs.
Q: How do you plan to use the fund raised?
A: We will use part of the funds raised to fulfill our donation pledge to the NGOs we are partnering with, strengthen our collaboration to support their contribution to the epidemic area. The situation in the epidemic area is changing every day, and our work will be adjusted accordingly. We will do our best to help. Please be assured that all funds raised will be used to support the affected areas.
Q: How do you make sure your partner NGOs will use their resources to help with the affected area?
A: We partner and collaborate closely with them in many ways: We help them connect with hospitals in affected areas, determine medical supplies needed, and help them complete all documents needed for transportation to China. We also coordinate custom clearance and transportation efforts, and with the help of enthusiastic alumni and volunteers in the country, ensure that the supplies arrive at designated hospitals quickly and smoothly. We also pledge our donation to the NGOs to support their effort.
Q: Are we planning to help cities/towns other than Wuhan in the Hubei province?
A: Yes, the neighboring cities and towns are suffering a shortage of medical resources no less than Wuhan. We promise to try our best.
Q: Can we offer tax deduction?
A: Yes. All of fundraising partners are registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donation are 100% tax deductible.
Q: How often will we get an update on funds raised, and work being done?
A: We will publish weekly updates.
Thank you! We appreciate your help, greatly and sincerely!
