Bio:

I am an associate professor of Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire/ University of Wisconsin-Eau Caire-Barron County. I love teaching mathematics/statistics and using a variety of teaching strategies to instruct the students and to promote student success. I have taught a wide range of mathematics and statistics classes. My research interests are in Computational Mathematics, Mathematical Modeling and Data Analysis. I have been working on high order numerical methods for solving PDEs, mathematical modeling, numerical methods and fast algorithms for structure and solvation analysis in molecular biology systems.

I enjoy working with undergraduate students on undergraduate research projects. I am the faculty advisor of the Undergraduate Mathematical Research & its Application Club. I have worked with over 53 undergraduate students on several undergraduate research projects, for example, `The Smart Cities-Smart Futures-Wisconsin', ` Innovative Minds Partnering to Advance Curative Therapies (IMPACT) Project', `International Mathematical Contest in Modeling', `Student Research League', ‘Student-Faculty Research Collaboration’ over the past few years. Students presented their research results at Celebration of Excellence in Research and Creative Activity at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Innovative Minds Partnering to Advance Curative Therapies (IMPACT) Symposium, and in the Annual Research in the Rotunda at UW-Madison, WI. Our collaborative work has been published on peer review journals. I have demonstrated strong leadership in mentoring undergraduate research projects over the past few years. In 2020, I have been selected to receive a ‘Emerging Mentor in Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity’ Award from Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The work I have carried out as an advisor for my students not only helped them acquire more math and science knowledge, but also helped them put that knowledge into practice. These experiences help students to gain valuable insight into research, design, communication, along with critical thinking skills that will help them in their future endeavors.
