• Frederick Bee History Project "Frederick Bee was a native of New York State, Gold Rush pioneer, builder of the Sierra telegraph, developer of Sausalito, lobbyist, attorney, and official of the Chinese consulate from 1878-1892. Mr. Bee defended the rights of Chinese residents, petitioned the government for redress of damages, worked to repeal local laws, and acted as a liaison with the Customs Department." Important to us is that two cases are about two young men who were born in Alvarado.

• Carl Purdy Ukiah Carl Purdy was based in Ukiah, but a presence in the area. He was involved with the PPIE, landscaping around the bay area, and was a native bulb expert. This is an example of curriculum developed by a historian.
