Over the last four years here at winston salem state football has helped me with many things. Time management is the first thing that comes to mind, having to deal with practice, class and meetings all in one day is very time consuming. Without proper time management its almost immposible to get work done in a timely manner.
This program also showed me how important it is to give back to the community. When my teammates and I have done community service in the past, you really get to see how appreciative and supportive the community is. It doesn’t matter what part of Winston you’re in you’re bound to see a Winston alumni, and they immediately treat you like family.
The coaches here have instilled in me the importance of holding yourself to a higher standard. As a student-athlete here at WSSU, eyes are always on you. If you do something out of line and word gets out, it won’t only affect you it will affect the team and the university. So it’s important that you carry yourself the right way and be a good example for the younger generation.
