Welcome to the Washington State Patrol (WSP) Server! This handbook serves as a guide for all troopers. Please ensure you read and understand each section, as they are critical to maintaining professionalism, safety, and orderliness within our community.
This department aims to create a realistic trooper experience that recalls the duties of the Washington State Patrol. We strive for collaboration and teamwork amongst troopers in a fair environment.
Respect: Treat all players consistently with respect and courtesy, regardless of their role.
Professionalism: Maintain a level of professionalism in all interactions, including in-game conversations and behaviour.
Roleplay: avoid breaking character unless absolutely necessary.
Justification: Officers may only discharge their weapons when they reasonably believe that their lives, the life of another, or the public are in imminent danger.
Non-lethal Options: Officers should utilize non-lethal options when possible to minimize risk to all players involved.
Troopers should have a foundational understanding of the following laws:
: Stick to standard speed limits unless responding to an emergency.
Assault: Know the definitions of various levels of assault and applicable penalties.
Theft: Understand the differences between petty theft and grand theft.
Search and Seizure: Familiarity with constitutional rights regarding searches.
Minor Infractions:
Verbal Warning
Written Warning
Moderate Infractions:
Suspension from duty for a temporary period (duration at supervisor's discretion).
Mandatory training session.
Severe Violations:
Immediate termination from the department.
Blacklist for heinous offences (i.e., abuse of power, excessive force).
Officers must conduct regular patrols in designated areas.
Be nice to the community and conduct traffic stops when necessary.
Identify yourself as a WSP trooper.
Use appropriate signals and lights when pulling a vehicle over.
Follow the steps of a traffic stop, including issuing warnings or citations based on violations.
Respond to dispatched calls promptly.
Ensure the use of sirens and lights during emergencies.
Coordinate with other emergency services when necessary.
Assess the situation and ensure backup if needed.
Inform the suspect of their rights.
Follow proper arrest protocols to ensure safety for all involved.
Active Shooter: Engage with caution, prioritize civilian safety, and call for backup.
Medical Emergencies: Assess the situation, secure the area, and call for medical assistance when needed.
Natural Disasters: Follow established protocols for public safety, assist in evacuation, and manage traffic as required.
