The WSFCA Head Coach Mentorship Program is an invitation-only event for new and aspiring head football coaches across Washington State. The WSFCA Executive Board will identify and invite approximately 50 coaches from across our state to attend this event each spring (no more than 50 due to capacity restrictions in the facility). In partnership with the Seattle Seahawks, the WSFCA seeks to provide these coaches with the resources and relationships to help them develop long-lasting and successful high school football programs in our state.
The WSFCA is bringing together many of the best high school football coaches in our state to join these new/aspiring coaches and share the things that have made their tenures so successful. But this mentor program is not about X's and O's. Instead, it will focus on everything else that goes into building, and maintaining a successful football program for the long-term.
Mentorship Program Mission: To guide and support football coaches in Washington so they continue the mission of the WSFCA. The mentorship program will promote and protect the highest standards of interscholastic football. We will achieve this through the promotion of ethical standards, academic excellence, safety on the playing field, fairness in competition, and the development of pride and belonging within the school community.
Mentorship Program Objective: To provide WSFCA members with the resources and support to help them succeed in developing and sustaining successful high school football programs in the state.
Mentorship Program Strategy: Organize and provide an annual ‘summit’ for connection, instruction, and development for WSFCA member coaches attending. Develop a network of current and former football coaches at the high school and collegiate levels to serve as mentors, speakers, and resources to attendees at the summit, and throughout the year.
Mentorship Program Target Audience: WA HS Football coaches who are in their first 1-3 years as head coaches, and/or assistant coaches who aspire to one day become high school head coaches.
