The National Parent Teacher Association was founded as an Advocacy organization and is the oldest and largest organization in the country that advocates for children. Advocacy is speaking with a unified voice on behalf of a cause or policy. The bylaws of both National and North Carolina PTA state that a core purpose of PTA is “to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.”  As such, it is the mission of our local PTA unit.
