Welcome

The Washington State Debate Coalition (WSDC) Educational Resources.

These resources were developed in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of university professors and debate coaches in an effort to facilitate engagement during the current election cycle. These resources provide different methods and depths of engagement for various audiences including civic organizations, high school & college students, speech and debate clubs, or just a group of friends who want to watch the political debates together. These resources can also be used to develop your own tools for engaging your unique group.

This resource includes a wide array of ways to engage politics through pub-style quiz questions, games, and puzzles.

If you intend to host a public debate, community viewing of a political debate, or want to host a general forum on civic issues, this talk back tool kit provides a good foundation for structuring your event and engaging your audience.

This resource pulls together some broad political debate resources, methods for understanding and watching debates, and some basic assignment ideas for engaging students in the classroom on political and civic issues.
