Gia Gaspard Taylor, a prominent figure in Trinidad and Tobago, is deeply committed to serving her country, with a focus on youth, women, and marginalized groups. As the president of the Network of Rural Women Producers Trinidad and Tobago (NRWPTT), Gia holds Special Consultative Status on the United Nations Social and Economic Council. She has served as Mayoress of Port of Spain for 17 years and is a strong advocate for women's inclusion in politics. Internationally, Gia represents Trinidad and Tobago in significant roles, including as the National Representative for the UN-UNESCO WSIS World Summit Award and a member of the UN Women Advisory Council for Latin America and the Caribbean. She contributes to UN Women initiatives, conducts workshops on Domestic Violence, and collaborates with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Community Oriented Police Section. Gia's leadership extends to various organizations, transparency initiatives, and community projects. She has received prestigious awards for her contributions, including the National Gold Award 2022 and the Friends of the Commonwealth "Women as Change Agents" Award.
