Homework And Due Date Policy
Homework is due on the assigned due date. When scores are entered, if an assignment is missing a "Mi" and a 0 will be entered into PowerSchool. Students will have 5 days to turn in the assignment after the due date with a reduction in score each day. After one week past the due date the "0" will remain as the score.
If a student is absent the previous assignment is expected to be turned in upon return. Students have one day for each day they were absent from class to turn in assignments. Extenuating circumstances will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
Math Enrich (aka: Reteach)
Students in advanced levels of Math will not attend Reteach. Reteach is to provide additional support for students on grade level.
Students will rotate each Semester through Math Enrich based on academic need.
PreAlgebra Goals: (Standards)
Eighth Grade is a exciting year with an introduction to many new topics and thought processes as well as building on the foundations of previous years!
Theses standards are not in chronological order and there are "additional standards" to be worked within those that are listed.

Khan Academy is a wonderful resource for instructional and additional practice. Perfect for another "way to explain it" if they didn't understand the lesson in class, or may have been absent. Khan Academy is also helpful for review before quizzes and tests.
This is my favorite go to place.
Math Antics is a great resource for another explanation of topics we study. There is a "virtual teacher" along with "on board" displays of what is being worked.
This is a good place to go if you need more energy in a presentation then Khan Academy
Prodigy is a Wizarding World of Math Fun
Students can work at their own pace or get assigned lessons from ann instructor to apply more practice on certain skills.
For Ms Thibodeaux's Class students will receive a specific Username and Login that links to a class page

AzMERIT PORTAL directs you to Arizona's Statewide Achievement Assessment for English Language Arts and Mathematics . It allows insight and practice for the tests coming up in the 2nd semester
CPM.org is the Resource for Algebra 1, but also has resource for other grade levels available for free.
There is a Homework Help sections as well as Parent Support. This is very helpful when it comes to understanding the CPM program philosophy.
If your student is an Algebra 1 student they will need their student information to access their e-book.
