Antoinette Shar’ron Johnson was born in Newark, New Jersey, and raised in Somerset, New Jersey. She has been a writer for over 30 years and has written hundreds of print and online articles for publication in newspapers, magazines, blogs, newsletters, and eNewsletters. In January 2010, her first book, titled No More Hair Drama was released. Her second book, titled 12 Days: A Story of Faith, Hope, Healing, and Victory, was released in August 2019. Antoinette currently has a blog titled Living in Your Moment and is a blogger for a Christian website titled HIS Global Watchmen Family of Ministries.
She previously served as editor-in-chief, co-layout director, and staff writer for The Mount Zion Newsline from 2005 to 2008. She was also the publication coordinator, co-editor, writer, and layout designer for My Life Now magazine, published by the Rutgers School of Public Health’s Community Living Education Project. Additionally, she worked as an assistant editor for The First District Flame, a newspaper of the First Episcopal District of the A.M.E. Church in Philadelphia, PA.
In June 2010, Antoinette graduated from the University of Phoenix with a master’s degree in education, curriculum, and instruction, specializing in English and language arts. In 2005, she received a journalism certificate from Middlesex County College. In 1991, she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Montclair State University, and in 1988, she received an associate’s degree in office systems technology from Raritan Valley Community College. She considers herself to be a lifelong learner and loves adding new skills to her toolbox.
For her contributions to the editing, layout, design, and writing of My Life Now magazine, the Community Living Education Project received Community Media Excellence Awards from The Arc/Morris in May 2015 and from The Arc of New Jersey in November 2015. In June 2010, she was featured in the Author’s Spotlight on the Literary Wonders website for her book No More Hair Drama.
Some of Antoinette’s future writing projects include screenwriting, self-help books, drama and romance novels and novellas for adults. In addition, she would like to write books for teens and children. Some of her hobbies include blog writing, volunteering, reading, healthy eating, and exercise.
Antoinette was married for over 33 years to Maury, the love of her life, who passed away in December 2022. She has a daughter, Jasmyne, son, Maury II, son-in-law, Jose, and grandson, Jru.
