Group Lessons

Group Lessons

In addition to 1-on-1 lessons, I also offer group lessons of 2-3 students for those that feel it meets their goals and desires better than individual ones. If you think you may be interested in group lessons, please read the information on this page and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Group Lesson Structure

Once a week video calls with 2-3 students and weekly assignments, which each student will do on their own. Group lessons will focus on collaboration and peer-review while ensuring each student's work is their own. Students will learn to help each other develop ideas, and they will learn how to give and receive constructive criticism.

Group or Individual Lessons?

There are pros and cons to doing group lessons instead of one on one, here are a few for you to consider while deciding which meets yours and your student's goals.

Group lessons are less personalized, students won't get lessons tailored as much to their specific needs. Students will get less time discussing their own work and questions. Students may have to wait while I answer other students' questions or work with other students on their papers.

However, group lessons provide an opportunity to practice vital writing skills such as discussing ideas and peer-review. Students will be able to talk about their ideas with their friend(s). They will also get practice in both giving and receiving constructive criticism,  which is essential for writing high quality papers. Additionally, group lessons provide an opportunity to spend time learning with friends, which can be quite fun.

Interested in Group Lessons?

If you would like to have group lessons, please contact me if you have 2-3 students who would like to participate. I would recommend a set of either friends or siblings similar in age and writing level.

You must contact me with an already existing group interested in having lessons together. I cannot not make groups.

Pricing

I will have preparation, reviewing and commenting on assignments, and making lesson plans based on those assignments for 2-3 students, however, there would only be one video call per week.

So, for group lessons, I offer a reduced rate:

50 dollars/week per student for groups of two

45 dollars/week per student for groups of three.
