Carol Gyzander was a prolific reader of classic science fiction and Agatha Christie mysteries in her early days. Now that her kids have flown the coop, leaving behind the writer’s requisite cats, she’s gone back to her early loves. Carol has an amateur detective novel in the works, and has published two cyberpunk novellas—based upon Macbeth and Henry V—and a clockpunk story inspired by Poe’s “The Raven.”
Carol is also the Editor-in-Chief at Writerpunk Press, an indie publisher that creates anthologies of punk genre stories (cyberpunk, steampunk, dieselpunk and more) inspired by classic works such as Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, and the forthcoming volume based on classics you probably read in high school English class.
She works a variety of other freelance positions and is an avid NaNoWriMo participant (in both Northern New Jersey and New York City). She is a member of the Liberty States Fiction Writers, Sisters in Crime – Central Jersey, and the Science Fiction Association of Bergen County. She joined the Writers of the Weird in December 2016.
