A Summer Writing Camp for Young Creators
Welcome to Write On! Youth Writing Camp, a weeklong summer experience designed to inspire creativity, grow confidence, and celebrate storytelling.
Held in northeast Nebraska, this camp is open to incoming 5th–9th graders from the Norfolk area and beyond. Whether your child is a budding novelist, a poetry enthusiast, or just curious about writing, there’s something here for everyone.
Our 2026 camp (June 22-26, 2026) will be held at the B.E. Adkins Kiwanis Youth Camp between Battle Creek and Norfolk - we can't wait to take advantage of all the outdoor space!
Explore various genres, including fiction, poetry, and more in hands-on sessions.
Meet real-world writers such as authors, journalists, and playwrights who share their writing journeys.
Design and fill your own keepsake writing notebook all week long.
Stay energized with time to play, move, and refuel between sessions.
Hi! I’m Stephanie Kollbaum, a middle school English teacher with a big heart for young writers. I’ve been teaching at St. John Lutheran in Battle Creek since 2021, and in 2023, I completed my Master’s in Teaching Writing from Johns Hopkins University.
This camp started with a simple question from a student:
“Is there a writing camp I could go to?”
That moment planted a seed, and in the summer of 2025, Write On! was born.
Whether your child writes for fun, has stories to tell, or just wants to try something new, this camp is designed to meet them where they are—with encouragement, creativity, and a whole lot of inspiration.
I can’t wait to write with your kids!
Proceeds go to offsetting camp costs for kids, and calmp gets some "free" advertising when you take your swag out into public!
Thanks for supporting Write On! Young Writers' Camp!
