ABOUT
Wrestlegolf is a traveling golf league that hosts themed events throughout the season at a variety of golf courses in the greater Dayton area. The rules are more relaxed to encourage fun and improve pace of play. The season schedule consists of three types of events for players to earn points; monthly 'Main Events' -- an in-season 'King of the Green' match-play tournament -- and the end-of-season 'Flight of Champions' league championship. Each event winner and the league champion receive a trophy (i.e. custom WG hat).
Main Events occur monthly on a scheduled date during the regular season. The net-stroke winner of the event becomes the interim WG Champion and holder of the WG championship belt. Each event also has a group game and/or field competition(s). These events have small entry fees that payout for player performance. Players also receive points based on how they place. Only the four best Main Event finishes for each player [out of six possible] are added to the overall season standings.
King of the Green matches [H2H net match-play] are played at the convenience of competitors throughout the season. Each participating player buys in their entry spot to the 16-man bracket. After completing a match, the players submit the result to the commish. A player is rewarded points for each victory -- until a final champion is crowned -- with all earned points being added to the overall season standings. The KOG champion also takes possession of the coveted green KOG championship belt.
Flight of Champions will crown the Wrestlegolf League Champion. Players within striking distance of first place will compete in the championship flight to determine which player finishes the season with the most standings points and claims the WG Championship belt. Non-title contenders will compete in separate flight(s) competitions similar to a typical main event format.
