Wredling PTO Position Descriptions
PTO BOARD POSITIONS
PTO BOARD President - Runs monthly meetings and meets with Administration to coordinate school needs.
PTO BOARD Vice President - Assist the PTO Board, check in and assist with all committee chairs as needed.
PTO BOARD Secretary - Assist the PTO Board, take and distribute minutes from each meeting, update website and Facebook as needed.
PTO BOARD Treasurer - Assist the PTO Board, monthly budget tracking and accounts receivable/payable functions, submit monthly finance report.
PTO COMMITTEE CHAIRS (These positions can all be run with a co-chair! Grab a friend and sign up to help!)
Annual Fundraiser-Papa Nicholas/Write a Check - This fundraiser typically rolls out in September/October, when students sell the coffee and the write-a-check campaign is published. The coffee that the students sold will be delivered to the school and will need to be sorted, grouped by order, and distributed. Sorting and distribution takes place mid to late November.
Big Hearts of Fox Valley - Coordinate and communicate donation needs with Wredling families and Big Hearts. Create donation box for the lobby and District 303 decoration contest (decor often coordinates with Fall Musical).
Colorpalooza - Plan and coordinate PTO’s biggest event of the year. Student registration, volunteer signups, supply ordering, coordinate with vendors (Pizza and Kona Ice Truck)
District PTO - Attend District Level PTO meetings as a Wredling representative. The meetings are held during the day approximately once a month. Provide a summary to the Wredling PTO.
8th Grade Celebration - Plan, coordinate, delegate to volunteers, and execute the end of year 8th grade celebrations: dance, picnic, yard signs, awards assembly, outdoor signs, etc.
Grounds & Landscaping - maintain the Tim Loversky friendship garden and cleanup around the school (this is run by the 6th Grade Service Learning Classes)
Lobby Beautification - change and maintain the decor in the Wredling Lobby
Material Pick-up Days/Locker Set-up Days - Coordinate the PTO Table during Material Pick Up Days: Recruit volunteers, sell spiritwear, registration for Colorpalooza event, answer questions and be a positive presence
No Cook Night - Plan about one dine out night per month for Wredling families to get food from a restaurant and earn money for the PTO. Coordinate with restaurants, create flyers and advertise to Wredling families.
Staff Appreciation - Plan and execute staff appreciation events throughout the year. Examples may include: welcome back breakfast, conferences lunch, Super Bowl Party, Staff Appreciation Week, etc.
STC Education Foundation - Create a gift basket on behalf of Wredling PTO for the silent auction that takes place at the STC Education Foundation Gala in March/April. Budgeted funds are available.
Student Recognition - Responsible for handing out treats to Wredling Honor Roll students during the lunch hour after report cards are distributed each trimester.
Spirit Wear - Coordinate with The Hairy Ant and the selling of Wredling spirit wear items at school events and 5th graders attending Wredling the following year
Volunteer Coordinator - Recruit general Wredling volunteers, create volunteer signups as needed, reach out to volunteer list to let them know of ways to help
