Welcome to the Water Quality Engineering Laboratory  (WQEL)

The Water Quality Engineering Laboratory welcomes undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers who are passionate about advancing clean water technologies and contributing to a sustainable future. 

Our research focuses on Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs), water disinfection and pathogen control, PFAS and other emerging contaminants, industrial wastewater treatment, disinfection byproducts (DBPs), and the environmental fate of hazardous contaminants. We investigate fundamental reaction mechanisms, optimize water treatment processes, and evaluate their applicability under realistic water conditions to develop efficient and sustainable water treatment technologies.
