How to connect to TP-Link Smart Plug ?

TP-Link smart devices can be controlled from Kasa App remotely and locally. This means we can easily create the home smart. This report will introduce the way to join the TP Link Smart Plug to the home system.

Notice: In case a Apple device is IOS 14 or over, please have the"Neighborhood Network" allowed first following the FAQ

Before we start:

1. Please download Kasa Smart out of App Store or Google Play and install it on your smartphone.

2. Connect your smartphone to your residence Wi-Fi system (2.4 GHz only).

3. Plug your Smart Plug into a power socket.

Here we require HS100 for example.

Steps to configure TP-Link Smart Plug via Kasa App.

1. Open the Kasa App and login to your own cloud account.

A.Login the Kasa Program with your cloud accounts.

2. Add your Smart Plug on kasa program.

3. Follow the instruction about the Kasa app to power on the HS100, await the Wi-Fi light emitting green and orange.

In case the light don't blinking green and orange, please refresh the HS100 as per UG/QIG.

4. Connect your telephone to the Smart Plug Wi-Fi. There's a difference between Android and iOS phone in this step.

For Android: Kasa will search for your Kasa Cam mechanically, and it will take about a moment.

In case you have problem in this step, please go to Settings- > >Wi-Fi on your smartphone and connect to HS100's Wi-Fi network (like iOS).

To iOS: Now you have to connect to the HS100's Wi-Fi system manually, please go to Settings- > >Wi-Fi in your smart phone and connect to HS100's Wi-Fi network (which named as TP-LINK_Smart Plug_XXXX), and then go back to your own Kasa program to continue the setup process.

5. Connect the wise Plug to your home network. Here we choose"Deco M5" as our home wireless network. If you can't find your house network in the Wi-Fi list, please click on "Combine Other Network" that on the bottom of the Wi-Fi listing, then enter your house community SSID and password manually. Following this step, your smart plug will be linked to your home network.

6. Reserve your smartphone.

7. Customize an icon for this particular Smart Plug. We can select an icon from the list, or pick in your "Albums" of your smartphone or take a photo.

Then enjoy your smart plug.

8. Click the wise Publish icon, it is possible to see a page just like below, and you can configure the settings such as Schedule/Away/Timer.

9. Tap to go into the interface of Device Settings, click on"Icon and Name" can edit the icon and name of the smart plug, click on"Device Info" will view the fundamental information of the smart plug.
