SKILLS CLINIC SERIES
The boys and girls basketball programs at West Park High School could not be more excited about hosting three fun-filled Saturday mornings of basketball for students in Kindergarten - 8th Grade in January 2024!
K-2nd Grade Sessions:
For Kindergarden, 1st, and 2nd grade students, the focus is on FUNdamentals. The goal of the 3 one hour sessions is to introduce boys and girls to basic offensive and defensive fundamentals while also helping to develop an enthusiasm for the game of basketball, good sportsmanship, and a positive attitude.
These 1 hour sessions are beginner level, using 8 foot hoops rather than the regulation 10 foot hoops.
Each player will receive a West Park Basketball t-shirt.
The cost of registration for K-2nd grade is $75 for the three week series.
3rd-8th Grade Sessions:
For 3rd-8th graders, the skills series will have a focus on skill development. During Week 1, the main focus will be on shooting form. Week 2 will focus on footwork & shooting and Week 3 will have more of a focus on Ball Handling & Finishing Moves.
Each player will leave with shooting drills and a record sheet to continue practice at home.
Each player will receive a West Park Basketball t-shirt.
The cost of registration for 3rd-8th graders is
$125 for 3 two hour sessions OR $50 for each session if not attending all three.
This format offers an opportunity to begin building relationships between our coaches/players and the young people in our community. We can't wait! See you soon!
