Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Can I sign up for more than one committee?

• Yes, you can! Sign up for as many committees as you'd like based on interest!

2. What do you do in the committees?

• Committees work individually and with other extracurriculars throughout WPHS to tackle issues which the student body and staff may experience. Our committees are dedicated to make change within our school on issues you may not see, but others experience! By joining, you'll aid in CHANGE!

3. How often do committees meet?

• This varies based on committees. When getting started up, committees may meet weekly or bi weekly. This may change based on workload, committee goals, etc.

4. How long do meetings last?

• Meetings tend to last anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour (max). Again, this will vary based on workload, committee goals, etc.

Join Our Social Media Ambassador Team

Apply to become a part of the West Potomac Student Equity Coalition's Social Media Ambassador Team! The time commitment for a social media ambassador is about ~1-3 hours per week. Each ambassador will be tasked with brainstorming, planning, and researching new ideas and designs to create content centered out the coalition's message of equity. Please visit our Instagram and Twitter @wphsequity for examples of the type of content this group creates. The ambassador team will be responsible for posting regularly and maintaining communications between other groups at West Potomac that promote equity within our school.

Applications are accepted and evaluated on a rolling basis. Decisions will be announced at the end of each quarter.

Become a Student Lead

Apply now to become a part of the West Potomac Student Equity Coalition's Student Leads! The time commitment for a student lead is about ~3-5 hours per week. As a student lead, you would be the main points of contact and responsible for keeping the coalition running. You would be in charge of planning and leading meetings, contacting organizations and staff, committee updates, working with the social media team, and more.

Applications are due by March 17th, 2021. The application process will include filling out and submitting the google form, as well as an interview portion that will conducted throughout March and April by the current student equity leads and advisor. The student leads will be announced in late April.
