Led a team with seven people on the design, development and delivery of a full-stack application that provides features such as gas station searching and recommendation, customized route planning and navigation.
Implemented backend service with Google Map and Place APIs and created RESTful APIs in Java to fetch and handle gas station and route data and deployed the service on AWS EC2.
Architected and implemented database using Google Firebase Realtime Database for the storage of user and event information.
Used Retrofit and OkHttp to handle HTTP requests and responses to and from backend service.
Coordinated with front-end subteam on developing UI by integrating a Google Map View with Markers and InfoWindow and using standard widgets such as ViewPager, DrawerLayout, and Dialog to provide features such as ‘Find GasStation Near Me’, ‘Find GasStation Along Route’ and ‘Navigation with Added GasStation Stops’.
Managed the project and conducted version control and code review using Github to track the progress and ensure the completion and quality of the project.

Developed a scalable full-stack web service in GO to implement a social network and deployed to Google Kubernetes Cloud (GKE) for larger scaling.
Created a geo-location-based searching function with GeoLocation, Google Map APIs and Elasticsearch (GCE) that allows users to search nearby posts within a given distance.
Created a face detection function with Google Vision API and integrated with the Go service that provides features such as face-related post searching.

Coordinated with the US Naval Sea Warfare Center and led the project of developing an automated hydrocarbon contamination detection system for naval parts. Co-designed and built the first model, which is in the process of being applied to more than 20 US Navy laboratories around the world.
Led a project of four international research groups and conducted the first comprehensive analysis on the impacts of natural gas as fuel on ships that evaluated and discussed environmental impacts, health risk assessment and climate change and provided insights on using natural gas as fuel for marine operation.
Designed and conducted laboratory photo-chemical reaction experiments and analysis to improve the prediction accuracy of atmospheric pollutants formation of a global 3D meteorological model, GEOS-Chem and provided insights on regulating and reducing air pollutants.
Developed a data acquisition and control system (software and hardware) using LABVIEW, MATLAB, and National Instruments that upgraded the system for the multi-million-dollar indoor environmental reactor facility from Windows-XP-compatible to Windows-10-compatible.
