My dog is not AKC registered. Can he/she still compete?
Most likely, yes! If you have a purebred dog that cannot be registered with the AKC and have a desire to see what your dog can do in Earthdog competition, a PAL/ILP number is all you need. The Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL) program allows unregistered dogs of registerable breeds to compete in AKC Performance and Companion Events, and also specific breeds in the FSS® Program that are eligible for Companion Events.
