International WOW Company is a non-profit organization, based in New York City and New Orleans, founded in 1996 by Josh Fox and a diverse group of international artists. International WOW Company is a film, theatre and civic engagement company made up of filmmakers, theater-makers, writers, activists, actors, and artists from diverse cultural backgrounds who collaborate to create new work that addresses current international social, environmental, and political crises. The company was founded to create new socially conscious work and to engage with its audience to foster activism and participation in the political process. International WOW Company is a significant cultural and activist force producing hard-hitting progressive films, theatre productions, engagement tours and educational initiatives that have been seen by over 50 million people on six continents, activating millions for political change.
From the Oscar-nominated, Emmy-winning GASLAND series, to the Climate Revolution and Fracking Engagement tours attended by hundreds of thousands, to live events like the Solutions Grassroots tour and groundbreaking Drama Desk-nominated theatre events like Surrender and The Bomb, International WOW Company has consistently pushed the boundaries of art and activism resulting in a significant impact on environmental laws, regulations and cultural perspectives. Josh Fox is the company’s Artistic Director and is internationally recognized as a spokesperson and leader on the issue of fracking, frontline resistance and extreme energy development.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Managing Producer will manage creative and administrative teams within the company along with the Artistic Director. The Managing Producer will provide project management during the development of new projects and programs within the company. The Managing Producer will serve as a liaison between project specific personnel and full time management and staff. The Managing Producer will strive to advance and maintain the ethics and mission of the International Wow Company in all aspects of its operation.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES
Manage full time, part time and contract employees.
Planning and implementing long term strategies to achieve the company’s objectives.
Manage WOW Haus, work with Artistic Director to coordinate events, educational experiences, rehearsals, and other activities
Help produce new projects, films, videos as is possible
Setting company budgets and forecasts alongside the Artistic Director
Meet with the Development Director on a regular basis to review the company’s financial performance
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
Ensure resource availability and allocation
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs
Help manage the relationship between projects and stakeholders
Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Possess an interest and passion for all International WOW Company projects.
Ability to work well with diverse individuals and balance a variety of needs
Excellent written, organizational, managerial and verbal communications skills
Ability to manage timelines and project budgets effectively
Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent computer skills. Regular use of Google Suite, Word, Excel, WordPress, Photoshop and design/ layout software, and Raiser’s Edge software/ database
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with experience and job responsibilities, ranging between $60-100K.
This position is a managing position for a non-profit and includes opportunities to produce films and other projects.
Unlimited paid vacation/personal days.
