The world's first global ancient chess federation, est. 2022
Modern chess has been played for only about 500 years, but chess-like games have existed for at least four millennia. The first known version of chess was played in ancient India, and it was called Chaturanga. From there, the game diffused to China, Japan, Persia, and Thailand, becoming the games of Xiangqi, Shogi, Shatranj, and Makruk, respectively. Here at the World Chaturanga Federation, we bring this cherished ancient games into modern times where it can be enjoyed by players across the world!
