Gun found in car at Dartford Crossing after woman shot dead outside pub in Kent village

A young woman has died after being shot outside a pub in a Kent village on Valentine's Day night.

Police are still hunting for the gunman, who they believe is a known victim, after an attack on the Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt, near Sevenoaks.

A woman in her 40s was shot outside the pub and died at the scene.

Kent Police say the male suspect is believed to be a "known victim".

It is understood one of the pub patrons tried to revive her with CPR while another used a defibrillator. But she died.

The suspect is believed to be a resident of the area. Run before armed officers arrive and surround the village.

Police said they later found a firearm and a vehicle linked to the incident at Dartford Crossing.

A murder investigation is currently underway.

Ray Picot, a resident, told Sky News he heard "two loud bangs" shortly after 7pm.

"We didn't think anything of it. But shortly after that we also saw a flashing blue light. And an ambulance parked in the car park. And there are police officers looking after them," he said.

Another resident said: "I don't usually see a lot of police here. You don't need to see that."
