Welcome

The “IV International Workshop on Competitive Location” will be held on May 28-30, 2017, at the University of Murcia, Murcia, Spain. This is the fourth meeting devoted to that topic organized by the Operations Research Group of the University of Murcia, and it is sponsored by the Fundación Séneca (Science and Technology Agency of the Region of Murcia) under the research project “Influence of the customer choice rule on the optimal location of a new firm”, 19241/PI/14. Previous workshops were held at University of Murcia (2008), University of Kent (2010) and Budapest University of Technology and Economics (2011).

The meeting intends to be a forum to exchange ideas and experiences about the different aspects related to the location of facilities which have to compete with other facilities to capture market share. Talks on discrete, network and continuous models will be presented, as well as on exact and heuristic solution methods to cope with those problems.

In addition to presentations, the meeting is intended to be a forum for exchange of recent experiences and results. Researchers and practitioners are invited to assist to this workshop.
