Blåsenhus is a campus at Uppsala University. The campus houses several academic departments, primarily in the fields of education and psychology. The first departments moved into the campus in early 2010. Blåsenhus accommodates approximately 2,500 students and 400 staff members. It provides education and training for future teachers, human resource professionals, behavioural scientists, and psychologists. Previously, the university's departments involved in education and educational research were spread across several locations in Uppsala, including the former Teacher Training College (Seminariehuset).
Construction of Blåsenhus officially began on 20 April 2007. The buildings were completed in 2009, and the first departments moved in during the spring semester of 2010. The official inauguration took place on 11 March 2010. In 2011, Blåsenhus received the Urban Environment Award (Stadsmiljöpriset) from the local newspaper Upsala Nya Tidning. The adjacent Campus1477 fitness centre opened in January 2010. Before Blåsenhus was established, teacher education programmes were primarily located at Seminariehuset in northern Uppsala.
The hall is namned after Gunnar Johansson (1911-1998) a professor in psychology..
