Welcome to my site all about working from home online to create an income stream from the many opportunities offered by the Internet.

I'm Ronda Guest and I've been making my own full-time income from the comfort of my own home-based office for many years.

I won't pretend this is easy, because it's not. But it's a whole load nicer than working every day for someone else or some big (or small) company.

Here are some of the benefits and (dare I say) drawbacks that are attached to being a home working entrepreneur as opposed to being an employee:

Benefits

What are the benefits of working at home for yourself?

I don't have to commute to and from my office, unless you consider walking from the kitchen with a hot cup of coffee to my office down the hall a commute! That time I get to use way more constructively than sitting in traffic cursing other drivers, or waiting around cold, smelly train stations for a packed full "sardine can" to come along and ferry me to and from work every day.

I'm the boss, so I get to say when I take a break and for how long. I choose when I take my vacations and if I want a day off, the boss always says, "YES!" ...and I'm never grilled by some irritating supervisor on why I want to take the day off!

On that point, there are no irritating supervisors to contend with. Nobody writes an annual assessment of me or decides if I deserve a raise or not. There are no promotions to go after because I'm already at the top!

If I want more money, I figure out how to make more money. Nobody but me decides how much I will earn, because I choose how hard and how long and how smart I work and I reap 100% of the rewards for my work.

Drawbacks

Are there any drawbacks to working in my own home office? Sure, there are some.

Like I don't get to interact with other office workers, aside from my dogs (they don't talk much). I don't have a working structure imposed upon me to improve my productivity. I don't get to go to the office party at Christmas or have drinks after work in a local bar with co-workers.

However, these apparent drawbacks are not really all that bad.

Having a working structure imposed on me like I'm a slave is not something I ever want to experience. I choose my own structure and believe it or not, I'm happier following my own orders (and I'm more productive) than I would be following someone else's.

I still go to office parties - just other people's cause I network a lot and have a lot of colleagues that work in offices!

Drinks after work? Really? That's a rocky road to nowhere good and I'm glad I'm not on it!

Conclusion

Working for myself from the enviable comfort of my own home is a privilege that I enjoy every day. My income is relatively stable and growing as I continue to add more income streams to my portfolio.

A lot of my income is what could be described as "passive." That means it makes me money without me needing to nursemaid it.

It also means I continue making money while I sleep and while I'm taking a vacation or a day off.

How many regular jobs does that happen with?

Hence, I'm happy working for myself. I continue to learn and grow my earning capability through experience and testing new things. For me, there is no better reward than knowing my financial freedom is completely in my hands.
